My Non-stick Pan

I left a set of expensive non-stick cookware to my son and his wife when I left the country. In one of my visits, I found one of the frying pans all scratched and the metal showing inside. I was horrified.

“What happened to this pan?” I asked the house help.

“I don’t know, Auntie. They are all like this when I started working here. I don’t understand why the pots here are all black.  I scrape and  scrape but I cannot remove the black soot completely.”

I had to bite my lips to keep from screaming.
